FHRAI 52nd Annual Convention

Marriott Acquires Starwood for $12.2 Billion to Become World’s Largest Hospitality Company


MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL, Inc. and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced today that the boards of directors of both companies have unanimously approved a definitive merger agreement under which the companies will create the world’s largest hotel company. The transaction combines Starwood’s leading lifestyle brands and international footprint with Marriott’s strong presence in the luxury and select-service tiers, as well as the convention and resort segment, creating a more comprehensive portfolio.

South Asia Economic Conclave

The World Tourism Day 2015

As you are aware that each year the World Tourism Day is celebrated on 27th September across the globe to foster awareness among the communities of the importance of tourism. The theme for this year Tourism Day is "One billion tourists one billion opportunities".

The Ministry of Tourism under the banner "Swachh Bharat Swachh Paryatan" theme has been promoting cleanliness and hygiene at tourist destinations Cleanliness drive at important tourist spots are planned to be organized by Ministry of Tourism involving students of Institutes of Hotel Management and IITTM in Delhi and across India.

We encourage all our members to volunteer their efforts for the success of this important national endeavour by organizing such cleanliness drive to mark the celebrations of World Tourism Day and send us the photographs to us, which will be shared with MOT for wide publicity.
