LETTER FROM CHAIRMAN

Like most companies with a clear view of how a business should be run, AIRDA too has a mission statement and we’d like to believe that ours has a great deal of depth and perspective.




So what is our mission statement all about?

"AIRDA's mission is to build a value base around "timeshare" and elevate it to the level of a key business driver for the hospitality and travel industry. Behind this intent, is our commitment to increase awareness of opportunities and geographies - enabling new entrants to make viable project investments; helping existing players visualize platforms for growth and expansion; and providing end-consumers useful guidelines and information on making informed decisions."

  • The first component of that statement is about building a value base around timeshare and elevating it to the level of a key business driver. In the early days, when timeshare first made its appearance the fledgling industry went through difficult times.

    Unfortunately, some early timeshare marketers got into the business for a quick buck – without any thought for transparency, or true value to the customer. As a result, timeshare as a concept took a beating. Cleaning up this image and giving the industry a positive image was one of our first challenges.

  • The second component of our statement relates to the positive energies we’re creating around timeshare.  By making this space conducive for growth and giving new entrants support and direction. An extended responsibility here is building a support system for established players and helping the industry obtain exemptions and benefits at the government level.
  • The third component of the statement focuses on end customers – the people who actually buy timeshare and want to believe in the concept of vacation ownership. These are people who could sometimes have fears, doubts and misconceptions; they could also be concerned about the money they have spent upfront.

That’s why, we are always there for the end customer - to illustrate facts and figures, clear doubts and give them the kind of reassurance they are looking for. We also inform them about their rights as “customers” and what they should typically expect from their resorts.

Having illustrated our vision statement, I thought I would give you
a quick overview of our objectives.


Primarily, our objective is to provide an interactive platform for member resorts, enabling a sharing of individual experiences and setting standards and formats that are largely uniform across the country.

Here are a few examples:

  • On advertising and promotion AIRDA resorts follow our guideline of being accurate and information based.
  • When it comes to management and operations, there is an emphasis on ethical standards and transparency.
  • Resorts also concerned about consumer interests – with the objective to ensure fair practices.
  • Our resorts also have systems in place for customer feedback and complaint redressal – with a commitment to deliver action and response.

So, there you are – that’s our mission statement with foot notes, to give you an overview of what we constantly work towards. Obviously we cannot do this alone - our member resorts help by joining hands with us, and our customers pitch in with valuable feedback. That’s a good recipe for success.
