Consumer Awareness Feature
For busy professionals, vacation ownership adds another interesting highlight on your official workday calendar. You now have the option of a seven‑day workcation. The calendar stays the same, but the setting changes completely. Instead of the same desk view, you could be looking out at a tropical beach, a hillside retreat, or a poolside cabana. And yes, working.

Timeshare once meant a simple routine: check in, switch off, check out. Today, switching off is optional. A workcation week can run seamlessly from Monday to Sunday, with mornings spent on calls from the balcony, lunches under a tree, and evenings winding down with laps in the pool.
And here’s the best part - you’re working remotely without dipping into company vacation days. Blending productivity with leisure in a way that feels rewarding.

Seven Days, Two Worlds - Can Work Truly Meet Vacation?
Seven days works because most remote-work policies allow short location changes if the work gets done and you attend scheduled online meetings. Ownership is simple too: no banking, no borrowing, no complex trades.
You use the week you already own. And resorts are built for it, with kitchens, laundry, Wi-Fi, and space to work. A 1BR suite functions as a remote office and your comfort zone.
I have used my annual vacation week - can I explore mixed-use bookings?
Yes, many AIRDA member resorts maintain a portion of inventory for short-term guests, ensuring steady occupancy while safeguarding member access. This means that even if you’ve already used your annual vacation week, you can explore mixed‑use options at your resort for additional stays.
Availability is managed through demand and reservation windows, enabling members to check ahead for the week they have in mind.

Should I also check for work-related support systems at the resort?
Many resorts list “High-Speed Internet” and “Workspace” as optional amenities. Check the resort directory or call ahead for Wi-Fi speeds and quiet areas. If your home resort isn’t suitable, exchange your 7-day week through your exchange company for one that is.
Book a 1BR or larger. Use bedrooms as call rooms and balconies for focused work. Some resorts offer business centers or quiet lounges as backup. This way, you can work hard during the week and take a break during the weekend. You also have the evenings available for enjoying your after-hours.

Do I need to tell my company I’m in Goa or Phuket?
Follow your company’s remote work policy; if they don’t have a RWP in place, please negotiate one. For a 7-day stay, most employers treat it as working from another city. You aren’t working shorter days, just changing your view.
If you have scheduled video calls, just check your background and time zone overlap ahead of time. A quick heads-up to your manager keeps things smooth, even when policy doesn’t require it.
Q: Can I do this through my exchange company?
Start by checking with your home resort to see if bookings are open for your desired week. You can also deposit your assigned week and exchange it for trade-in days at another affiliated resort. Exchange companies aim for fair matches, and many now label properties “Work-Friendly” or “Digital Nomad Ready” so you can filter for Wi-Fi, desks, and quiet space before booking.
So, maybe it’s time to look at the year ahead and plan your workcation. And as we said earlier, you’re working remotely without dipping into company vacation days. Blending productivity with leisure in a way that feels rewarding.
